
We’ve known that J.J. Abrams had a movie in mind to make for Paramount — thanks to Brad Grey for talking about it in nebulous terms back in December — but we haven’t known any real details about it. Now, however, there is some interesting info. Supposedly Abrams, the guy who masterminded Cloverfield in addition to a couple of TV shows you might have heard of, has a plan for a feature that will be a serious homage to the ’70s and early ’80s movies of Steven Spielberg. Abrams is Spielbergs son
Abrams and Spielberg are a lot alike in the sense that they both have a lot of projects on their plates and they're always saying stuff like “Well I might do this next movie/TV series first?” and then barely get around to it, so it makes sense that they'd work together.
I remember when I was watching JJ name off his 5 favorite films he named Jaws as one of them. He said that if there could be a channel that plays Jaws all day everyday he would watch it.
